Ohuhu Markers: FAQ & Observations from a professional illustrator
There’s been a lot of buzz about Ohuhu markers recently. Is this a marketing campaign or are people naturally gravitating towards a quality product?
After swatching and testing the entire Ohuhu Honolulu Marker set, is this a marker I’d recommend for you?
not recommended for dark to light coloring
blends are a PITA to find (recommend hex)
firm brush nib
WARNING: No numbers on barrel - never take both caps off
no roll bumps don’t work
plastic cap stretch?
expect the silver lettering to wear off
insane numbering system
brush nib extremely firm - impedes flick stroke, hairs on points, noisy due to friction,
i will not be using these markers further so i don’t feel right about offering recommendations on best colors, blends, or usage
good for somoene coloring tiny images once in a while. I do not understand their popularity with pros and/or comic illustrators
“they’re so juicy” is really “it’s a new marker and I’ve been underfilling all my old markers!”
WARNING!!!!! STAINED MY WORKSURFACE!
what i expected to find vs what I actually found
